What to expect.
🌿 Departure & arrival at Pugu Hills
We will leave Dar Es Salaam around 08:00 and drive towards Pugu Hills National Forest. Upon arrival you will be explained the different hike routes and you can choose a shorter or more challenging trek.
🥾 Hiking through an ancient rainforest
You’ll hike through one of the oldest forests in the world, with an abundance of tropical plants and trees. Along the way, you’ll pass streams and rock formations and hear the sounds of exotic birds and other forest dwellers.
🐦 Birds & Wildlife
Pugu Hills is a bird watcher’s paradise. Along the way you can spot bee-eaters, toucans and rare birds of prey. Our guide will help you recognize these animals and tell you more about their habitat.
🦇 The mysterious bat cave
For those who like adventure, there is an optional hike to an impressive cave that is home to thousands of bats. This natural phenomenon makes the tour extra special and provides a unique glimpse into the Pugu Hills ecosystem.
